Gives the blocker practice at making a decision on weather to retreat off the net or stay up to block. Additionally this drill can be modified to help develop the attackers’ ability to sense where the defender is dropping.
Gets practice dropping off the net (retreating) and playing a ball that is hit towards them. It is recommended that athletes are familiar with the technique of ‘high ball’ defense before the ball is driven high and hard at the retreating athlete.
